WHAT HAPPENED?
According to BBC Sport, the 26-year-old is close to agreeing a new contract that will extend her stay beyond 2025. Chelsea have been credited with interest in the Spain international but after several months of negotiations, Bonmati is edging closer to signing a new, lucrative deal.

She helped the Catalan outfit win an historic continental quadruple last season, with the midfielder named the Most Valuable Player of both the Champions League final and the tournament.
